I am a full time piping instructor, with many years of competing experience. I have been based in London since 2011.
As a piping teacher, one of my big interests has always been how to effectively teach technique for the bagpipe. Technique is like a sewage system – it is only noticed in its absence! However, I have generally found that at the root of most musical issues is the use of technique which is insufficiently controlled or unable to do the job it needs to do to support the music.
About this site
This site began as an online workbook for my pupils, but as I worked through the requirements it soon became obvious that it would be useful for a more general audience, so here it is. You can find out more about me and my teaching practice in London via my website.
Musical examples are presented using the abcjs system.
